TENNIS Programs for Juniors

Tennis Central’s Juniors Program is home to professional and top ranked junior players.  The objective of the program is to be one of the best tennis facilities in America that delivers a wide range of training from beginner to high performance level.  Tennis Central provides a world class environment for our players to capitalize on their potential development, as both a tennis player and on a personal level.

Our Professional coaches believe that tennis is lifelong sport, thus the philosophy for training our beginner players is, “Fun, Thinking, and Learning Tennis.”

USTA Red Ball Program (8 years and under)

This program is designed to help children discover tennis using specialized equipment just like other sports.  Their equipment is scaled down to fit their age and size.  They will develop their motor skills; coordination, agility, balance and ball tracking.  They discover tennis and love it by learning to “play the game!”

Fall 2022 schedule:
Mondays 4:30-5:30pm
Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm
Fridays 4:30-5:30pm
Saturdays 1:30-2:30pm
Sundays 3:30-4:30pm

1 hour clinic................ $30 per class

USTA Orange Ball Program (10 years and under)

This program is designed to build off our Red Ball Program. Children will learn the technical and strategic foundations of tennis and work on further developing their motor skills.

Fall 2022 schedule:
Mondays 4:00-5:30pm
Wednesdays 5:00-6:30pm
Fridays 4:00-5:30pm
Saturdays 12:00-1:30pm
Sundays 3:30-5:00pm

1.5 hour clinic................ $42 per class

USTA Green Dot Program (11 years and over)

This program is designed for beginners to advanced players ages 11& up. The curriculum is customized to enhance each individual player’s ability and will work on stroke technique, footwork, strategy, consistency and match points. It is intended to perfect technical foundations and to have each player become more strategically proficient.  This program has a physical fitness component to enhance their level of concentration while playing matches. Each player is evaluated and placed in their appropriate group.  This program is designed to run the same way our tournament training academy players are trained.

USTA Yellow Ball Program (14 years and over)

In this program our juniors are taught to perfect their technical foundations and become more strategically efficient. There is a component in this program to develop their physical fitness capacity. This program has a physical fitness component to enhance their level of concentration while playing matches. Each player is evaluated and placed in their appropriate group. This program is designed to run the same way our tournament training academy players are trained.

High Performance Program

The program provides a world class environment for our players to capitalize on their potential development, as both a tennis player and on a personal level. Our Professional coaches believe that tennis is lifelong sport, thus the philosophy for training our beginner players is, “Fun, Thinking, and Learning Tennis.”

All our programs are designed to follow the ITF (International Tennis Federation) guidelines.  The group lesson is tailored so that each child will have an opportunity to work on their individual needs, keeping in mind the development of the following objectives:

Social Objectives

  • How to develop a healthy and fun work ethic.
  • Learn sportsmanship.
  • How to compete fairly.
  • How to become self-confident.
  • How to be a team player.

Tennis Skills

  • To develop the correct footwork attitude.
  • To develop hand-eye coordination.
  • Adjust for spin according to the ball.
  • Be able to control the ball height, direction and power.
  • Improve balance, reflex and reaction time and develop consistency.

Physiological Objectives

  • How to feel healthy by exercising correctly.
  • How to condition yourself.
  • Develop speed and endurance.
  • Develop strength.
  • How to be agile and flexible.

Game Objectives

  • Learn the game pattern.
  • Learn the parts of the court.
  • Improve shot selection and decision making.
  • Use proper skill in game situations.

Our training philosophy is an athlete comes before winning.  Our professional coaches help our players build other skills such as; sportsmanship manners, positive thinking/attitudes, communication and teamwork.

Our priority is to create an environment that gives our players the best chance of reaching their highest potential.  Thus, our high performance provides training programs that meets the level of need  for each of our tennis players, whether they are just starting out or they are one of our most advanced players.
